The Wave Pictures return after their recent collaboration with Stanley Brinks with a new EP, Sweetheart, out June 7th on Moshi Moshi Records.

After the richly observed and amusingly confessional lyrics of If You Leave It Alone, the Sweetheart EP renews their focus on storytelling with six songs of simple compositions and quirky, ramshackle charm.

Intriguingly off-kilter yet instantly familiar, the title track blends hazy, lo-fi sounds that welcomingly contrasts the rich guitar tones and the earthy bliss of its lyrics.

Dave Tattersall's trademark vocals are wrapped up in The Wave Pictures' signature cosy crackle. The result is an EP that is wistful, bittersweet and catchy in all the right places.
