"One of the many things to love about Hot Club De Paris is that they sound exactly nothing like anything that would ever be played in any of Paris' hot clubs, unless said clubs were forcibly occupied and had their playlists overhauled by tramps. Instead, Shipwreck is endlessly busy, scuttling psych-skiffle with a bit of manic sea-shanty thrown in, and is all about going out nightclubbing with next to no money and getting into a diametrically opposite amount of trouble. If you're looking for a reference point that sounds similar to an earlier metaphor used in this very review, anyone remember Tramp Attack?
