Hot City

Twist

Single released 31/10/2010

November sees the return of Hot City with double a side single Twist / Lonely Boy, the former of which features MC DT of Pied Piper 'Do you really like it' fame. That's right, the one time, legendary UK garage MC was found twittering about Hot City online, so the trio hooked up, hit the studio and the result, Twist, sees the light of day via Moshi Moshi on November 1st.

Twist is a heavy dancefloor record with signature heavy bassline and MC DT's distinctive vocals ripping it up – punchier than Tyson chewing on a wasp. MC DT first started emceeing at Notting Hill Carnival from the age of 7 and is part of the group DJ Pied Piper and the Masters of Ceremonies, and famous world wide for the line "We're Loving It, Loving It, Loving It", which was one of the main hooks in the song 'Do You Really Like It?' The song went to number one in the charts in Britain.

Lonely Boy is the classic Hot City sound, messed up stabs and clipped vocals encompassing the best of garage, 4:4 house and the odd rave sound thrown in for good measure, plus their staple two cheer points; "the cheer point can be anything - a sound, a bass drop, a vocal sample and thing that gives you 'that' feeling... we try and have two or three in every track".
