Casiokids have been flying high -- literally and figuratively -- since releasing their singles collection (and Polyvinyl debut) Topp stemning pa lokal bar in the summer of 2010.

Shortly after the compilation hit stores in June, the group was hand-picked by fellow Norwegians a-ha as a potential recipient of one of four talent grants the band was offering. Casiokids eventually won the coveted prize through a popular vote, thereby affording them the opportunity to open for their famous countrymen on the group's farewell tour last fall -- a trek they promptly followed-up with a one-week North American tour sandwiched between festival appearances in England, Poland and Australia.

Then, in March, Casiokids found themselves nominated for a Spellemann Award (the Norwegian equivalent of a Grammy) at the same time they were playing sold out shows across the U.S.

And yet, amidst all of the seemingly constant jet setting and endless stream of accolades bestowed upon them, Casiokids managed to set aside an uninterrupted block of time to record a new album.

The resulting album is unlike anything Casiokids has released thus far.

For one, Aabenbaringen Over Aaskammen, which roughly translates to "The revelation over the mountain," is much more cohesive than the collection of Moshi Moshi singles and double A-sided 7" tracks that comprised Topp Stemning Pa Lokal Bar.

But, despite this newfound attention to the art of recording, don't think that Casiokids have abandoned the simple joy of creating music with their namesake instrument.

Because after all -- since Casiokids enjoy hopping around the world so much, they definitely want to compel their listeners to do a little moving around, too.
